We Need Township Volunteers to be the First in the State to Participate in Curbside Food Waste Recycling!
The Township of Princeton is looking for Township residents who want to take part in a pilot food waste curbside removal program. The Township has been invited by Premier Food Waste/Central Jersey Waste & Recycling to implement curbside food waste recycling, which will be the first of its kind in the state.
Nearly 30 percent of what we throw away in our garbage is organic---and the average single family household throws away about 45 pounds of food scraps and food-soiled paper every month. Why not save money on your garbage hauling, keep the food out of the landfill and create beautiful soil and compost?
Program Specifics:
- Residents will be supplied two containers, one for organic waste and one for household garbage.
- Collection will take place weekly.
