Application Instructions for Solicitor, Peddler, Canvasser and Transient Merchant License
Licensing Period: January 1st to December 31st.
Application Package Includes
a. Application for License
Submit completed application to the Municipal Clerk with all forms and required materials. All items must be complete for processing.
Applicant's signature must be notarized before submitting the application for processing. Princeton Township does not provide notary services.
Application fee of $50.00 per person for solicitor/peddler or $100.00 for transient merchant and must be submitted at the time of application. The fee is non-refundable whether or not the license is approved or denied.
Two (2) photographs of the applicant approximately 2 ½ by 2 ½ must be submitted with the application.
Upon receipt of the completed application the Chief of Police will within thirty (30) days act upon the license.
b. New Jersey State Bureau of Identification Form (SBI)
SBI Form: Request for Criminal History Record Information: Fill in personal information required. Sign and date at the bottom of the form (Signature of Applicant).
The State Will Not Accept Cash or Personal Checks. You must submit a certified check, cashier's check or money order made payable to "Division of State Police - SBI" for $18.00.

Mobile Food Vendors
Applicants for mobile food vending must also apply to the Princeton Regional Health Department for license and vehicle inspection. A copy of the license must be provided with this application.
Renewal of License
Applicant to file a new application with the SBI form and repeat the processing procedure annually which includes review and approval by the Princeton Township Police.
