Reconstruction of Mountain Avenue
June 15, 2007 Project Update
Dear Mountain Avenue Neighborhood Residents:
On Monday, June 25, 2007, Top Line Construction, the Township's
Contractor, plans to begin work on the Mountain Avenue Improvement
Project. The work will take place between the Great Road and Quarry Lane
and includes installing drainage improvements which will serve to
eliminate the existing drainage ditch along the southern side of the road,
the installation of Belgian block curb, repair and resurfacing of the
roadway, and topsoiling and seeding of the road shoulders.
During the Project, which should take approximately six weeks to complete
exclusive of landscaping, Mountain Avenue will be closed to through
traffic between the hours of 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM Monday through Friday.
Residents of the area will have continued access to your homes. In
addition, it may be necessary to close the road between 8:00 AM and 5:00
PM on certain Saturdays.
Residents who live in the Glen or whose driveways are located on Mountain
Avenue between Quarry Lane and the Great Road will have access to your
homes from either the Route 206 side or the Great Road side of Mountain
Avenue, depending upon where the work is proceeding. Please note that
Pardoe and Westerly Roads will remain open during construction and will
provide a detour around the area of work. If you live in this area and
wish to receive periodic emails advising of the current work plan and
schedule, and how best to access your home during the construction, please
contact Anthony Soriano at asoriano@princeton-township.nj.us. Mr. Soriano
will add you to the Engineering Department's email list and keep you
informed as the work proceeds.
If the Engineering Department can be of assistance, or if you have any
questions prior to 9:00 AM, or after 5:00 P.M., please contact Anthony
Soriano, EIT, Engineering Assistant (cell phone #731-6615). Between 9:00
AM and 5:00 PM, you may contact Mr. Soriano, or myself at 921-7077.
Additionally, general periodic project updates will be available on the
Road Projects page from the Township's website
(www.princetontwp.org/road_projects_main.html).
Your assistance in tolerating the temporary inconvenience associated with
this work, which will lead to a permanent improvement of your neighborhood
is appreciated.
Sincerely,
Robert V. Kiser, P.E.
Township Engineer
