Improvements to Maclean Circle

July 27, 2007

IMPORTANT NOTICE

Dear Maclean Circle Neighborhood Residents:

On Monday, July 30, 2007, weather permitting, Top Line Construction, the Township’s Contractor, will begin to repave the sections of driveways that were damaged during construction.  The work is planned to begin at 7:00 AM and is anticipated to be completed in one (1) day, weather permitting.

Residents are asked to remove vehicles from their driveways on Sunday night or Monday morning, prior to the start of work.  Residents will be allowed to park on sections of Hartley Avenue or Lake Drive where the work will not take place.  Vehicles should not be parked near the intersection with Maclean Circle in order to allow access for the paving equipment.  In the event of inclement weather, the work will proceed on the following day.

Work hours will be between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM.  Access to driveways will be restricted after the work is completed to allow the asphalt to cool and set.  In this regard it is recommended that you not drive your vehicle over the asphalt for a 24 hour period to allow it to cure.

On Tuesday, July 31, 2007, weather permitting, Top Line Construction, the Township’s Contractor, will continue preliminary road improvement work consisting of repairs and the milling of existing pavement as well as the installation of new base course pavement on Maclean Circle starting at its northern intersection with Hartley Avenue and working towards its southern intersection with Hartley Avenue and Lake Drive.  The work is planned to begin at 7:00 AM and is anticipated to be completed in one day, weather permitting.

Residents are asked to remove vehicles from their driveways on Monday night or Tuesday morning, prior to the start of work.  Residents will be allowed to park on sections of Hartley Avenue or Lake Drive where the work will not take place.  Vehicles should not be parked near the intersection with Maclean Circle in order to allow access for the paving equipment.  In the event of inclement weather, the work will proceed on the following day.

After the paving of the base course on the roadway is completed, you will be prohibited from using the road for a 1-hour period up until approximately 6 P.M.  This restriction will prevent permanent marring of the blacktop during its “curing period”.   Residents will then be allowed to return to their driveways once the road is opened.

You will receive an additional notice prior to the final paving of the street which is tentatively scheduled to occur either on Wednesday, August 1st or Thursday, August 2nd, weather permitting.

Work hours will be between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM.  Provisions will be made for continued services such as mail delivery, garbage and recycling pick-up.

If the Engineering Department can be of assistance, or if you have any questions prior to 9:00 AM, or after 5:00 PM, please contact Scott Hutchinson, Engineering Inspector (cell phone #731-2631).  Between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM, you may contact Robert Killian, Construction Administrator, or myself at 921-7077.

Your assistance in continuing to tolerate the temporary inconvenience associated with this work, which will lead to a permanent improvement of your neighborhood is appreciated.

Sincerely,

Robert V. Kiser, P.E.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

Dear Maclean Circle Neighborhood Residents:

On Monday, July 23, 2007, weather permitting, Top Line Construction, the Township’s Contractor, will continue to remove and replace sections of curbing and sidewalk along Maclean Circle.  The work is planned to begin at 7:00 AM each day and is anticipated to be completed by next Friday, July 27, weather permitting.

In areas where the curbing and/or the sidewalk have to be replaced at a driveway location, residents are asked to park their vehicles along Maclean Circle during the concrete “curing period” which is a minimum of two (2) days.  Residents will then be allowed to return to their driveways once the concrete has cured.

During construction working hours, one lane of traffic will be maintained on Maclean Circle. The road will be re-opened to full two-way traffic at the end of each day.

You will receive additional information prior to the repair and the paving of the road.

Work hours will be between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM.  Provisions will be made for continued services such as mail delivery, garbage and recycling pick-up.

If the Engineering Department can be of assistance, or if you have any questions prior to 9:00 AM, or after 5:00 PM, please contact Scott Hutchinson, Project Manager (cell phone #731-2631).  Between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM, you may contact Robert Killian, Construction Administrator, or myself at 921-7077.
