Marion Road East and Marion Road West

July 6, 2007

IMPORTANT NOTICE

Dear Marion Road East and Marion Road West Neighborhood Residents:

Beginning Monday, July 9, 2007, weather permitting, Top Line Construction, the Township’s Contractor, will be installing the final surface course of pavement on Marion Road. The work is planned to begin at 7:00 AM and is anticipated to be completed by the end of the day, weather permitting.  Should the paving not be completed on Monday, the work will resume the next working day, weather permitting.

During this time, and until the surface course of the road paving is complete, residents should remove their vehicles from their driveway prior to 7 AM, as access will be restricted during work hours, but will be restored upon the completion of paving at the end of the day.  The paving is scheduled to begin on Marion Road East at Shady Brook Lane and finish on Marion Road West. Parking is available on sections of Shady Brook Lane where work will not take place.

After the paving of the final surface course on the roadway, residents will be prohibited from using the road for a 2-hour period up until approximately 7 P.M.  This restriction will prevent permanent marring of the blacktop during its “curing period”.   Residents will then be allowed to return to their driveways once the road is opened.

Work hours will generally be 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM.  Provisions will be made for continued services such as mail delivery, garbage and recycling pick-up.

If the Engineering Department can be of assistance, or if you have any questions prior to 9:00 AM, or after 5:00 P.M., please contact Scott Hutchinson, Engineering Inspector (cell phone #731-2631).  Between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM, you may contact Robert Killian, Construction Administrator, or myself at 921-7077.

Your assistance in continuing to tolerate the temporary inconvenience associated with this work, which will lead to a permanent improvement of your neighborhood is appreciated.

Sincerely,

Robert V. Kiser, P.E.
Township Engineer

IMPORTANT NOTICE

Dear Marion Road East and Marion Road West Neighborhood Residents:

Beginning Tuesday, July 3, 2007, weather permitting, Top Line Construction, the Township’s Contractor, is planning to remove and repave sections of driveways as necessary to meet the proposed elevation of the new roadway. The work is planned to begin at 7:00 AM and is anticipated to be completed by the end of the day on Thursday, July 5, weather permitting.  Work will not be occurring on Wednesday, July 4.

During this time, residents should be prepared to remove vehicles from their driveways. Residents will be allowed to park on sections of Shady Brook Lane where work will not take place. Vehicles should not be parked near or across from driveways in order to allow access for the paving machines.
In the event of inclement weather, the work will begin on Thursday, July 5, 2007.

Work hours each day will be between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM.  Access to driveways will be restricted after the work is completed to allow the asphalt to cool and set.  In this regard it is recommended that you not drive your vehicle over the asphalt for a 24 hour period to allow it to cure.

Beginning on Friday, July 6, 2007, weather permitting, Top Line Construction is planning on placing topsoil, seed, and mulch along both Marion Road East and Marion Road West, weather permitting. The work is planned to begin at 7:00 AM and is anticipated to be completed by the end of the day.

You will be receiving an additional notice advising of the scheduling of the final paving of the road which is tentatively planned for the week of July 7th.
