May 5, 2008
Dear Woodside Lane Neighborhood Residents:
Beginning Tuesday, May 6, 2008, weather permitting, Vangelis Construction, the Township’s Contractor, will begin preliminary work consisting of removing and replacing the existing concrete curbing with new Belgian block curbing and the replacing of the marked sections of existing sidewalk along Woodside Lane in preparation to the milling and resurfacing of the street between Riverside Drive and Prospect Avenue. The work is planned to begin at 7:00 AM each day and is anticipated to be completed in three weeks, weather permitting.
Residents will be notified by the contractor to remove vehicles from the sections of Woodside Lane prior to the start of work each day. Residents will be allowed to park at a location on Woodside Lane where work is not taking place, as advised by the contractor, or on Mason Drive, Prospect Avenue, or Riverside Drive.
In areas where the curbing and/or the sidewalk are to be replaced at a driveway location, residents are asked to remove their vehicles during the entire concrete “curing period” which is a minimum of two (2) days. Residents will then be allowed to return to their driveways once the concrete has cured.
During construction working hours, one lane of traffic will be maintained on Woodside Lane. The road will be re-opened to full two-way traffic at the end of each day.
Work hours will be between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Provisions will be made for continued services such as mail delivery, garbage and recycling pick-up.
You will receive an additional notice prior to the milling and paving of the street.
If the Engineering Department can be of assistance, or if you have any questions prior to 9:00 AM, or after 5:00 PM, please contact Scott Hutchinson, Project Manager (cell phone #731-2631). Between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM, you may contact Robert Killian, Construction Administrator, or myself at 921-7077.
Your assistance in continuing to tolerate the temporary inconvenience associated with this work, which will lead to a permanent improvement of your neighborhood is appreciated.
Sincerely,
Robert V. Kiser, P.E.
Township Engineer
